Apocalypse Sumo Robot (4x4 Sumo Robot with Maxon Motors - Non-Magnetic Type 3Kg)

Apocalyse is a very powerful non-magnetic sumo robot kit that we manufacture. This robot, which comes assembled and tested, uses high-speed and agile Maxon motors (4 units) with superior electronics system.

Line Sensors

Sumo robot utilizes a total of three line sensors: two at the front and one at the back. The line sensors located on the front right and left are positioned as far forward as possible to provide the robot with an efficient response time.

The rear sensor is used especially for retreat tactics (our favorite).

Opponent Sensors

The robot uses 5 long-range object sensors (JS200XF). This allows it to see its opponent from every angle and lock onto the target. These, JS200XF digital infrared sensors can easily perform all the sensing required for an active robot.

JS200XF infrared sensors, which provide a digital output indicating "Opponent present / No opponent," have the longest range in their field up to 2 meter.

XMotion Mega, Ultimate Arduino Based Controller with Motor Drivers

The XMotion Mega control board used in the robot is easily programmable with Arduino and includes a high-current DC motor driver circuit, an efficient SMPS voltage regulator, a tactical selector switch, and many additional complementary circuits. Developed for sumo robots and many other robot types, the XMotion Mega, with its 4-layer PCB, is programmable via USB.

Start / Stop System: Microstart

Our robot is equipped with the microstart module, a proven start and stop system that has performed well in numerous competitions (Featured at: All Japan and International Robot Sumo, Minoan Robot Competition Greece, Fibonacci Turkey, Robot Games Zero Latitude Ecuador). This module communicates via the Sony infrared protocol included in the robot kit.

Open Source Robot Code with 8 Starting Tactics

The robot's Arduino code comes with 8 starter tactics. These start tactics allow the robot to position itself relative to the opponent robot during the initial launch or to attack a weak point of the opponent robot (e.g., corners). These tactical modes are adjusted via the black dipswitch on the Xmotion Mega control board.

It features a special design for easy maintenance and active operation. All plates can be easily separated with a Phillips screwdriver. All in one XMotion Mega Controller is programmed with Arduino software (selected as Arduino Leonardo Controller in software) with coming micro USB Cable.

The LiPo battery is located inside the robot, between the motors. To replace the LiPo battery, you can access it by opening the cover on the bottom housing.

We utilized all our technical knowledge and experience to the fullest extent in this robot. Equipped with 5 opponent sensors, this sumo robot is designed to attack its opponent with high speed before defending. The two rear wheels will keep the robot in contact with the ground at any angle, ensuring continued thrust even if the opponent robot is under the front blade.

This robot is manufactured with our limited number of stock Maxon motors, robot is produced specifically for the year 2026. Unfortunately, this means we can only limit the sales quantity to 20 total units.
