We have spent years of experience on mobile robots to create a very powerful and trouble-free motor driver, and after long tests, we present you the Reactor DC motor driver board Version 1.2.

Peak current and peak voltage recording (basic datalogging) while working. That can be sent via UART TX output. (TX output can be active by Datalog Out Input).

Driver can easily control many DC motors between 12V to 48V line, such as:

◼ Mabuchi DC motors up to 2kw (i.e Mabuchi 550 Motor is 100w rated)

It is easy, You can control motors by 4 different options. This options are usually found at many controllers like Sabertooth, Pololu, Roboclaw & Cytron brands.

- Direction/PWM (Speed) Control (Suitable for Arduino and 5V Logic MCUs)

- UART based Serial Packet Signal Control Input (38400 bps - very fast for all control options - Suitable with 3.3V MCU systems too)

- Dual RC Signal 50hz (analog) & 333hz (digital) inputs

- Analog Joystick Based Pan-Tilt Control (Suitable for Simulators, Camera Systems..)

These control methods make our Reactor drive usable on all mobile robots that use brushed motors, suitable with 2 motors to 6 motors.

Reactor offers many different control methods. If we consider them.

The fastest control method is the DIR/PWM input method. This is a method we also use in sumo robots. The response time is under 500 microseconds (0.0005 seconds).  One pin for each motor controls speed and other one pin controls direction. (4 Pins for 2 DC Motors)

RC Mixed control is a control system designed for radio-controlled systems (such as RC sumo or tank robots). It works according to the amplitude of the signal used. In this control, the radio control remote control controls the forward and reverse speed and direction of 1 stick 2 motors, while the other stick controls the differential rotation (tank rotation) of the motor. It uses 1 RC input pin for each motor (2 pins for 2 DC motors).

Analog Joystick Control, This control is the control method we developed for automation and camera systems, An analog joystick controls 2 motors with 2 channels.

UART Serial Control, Allows you to control the speed and direction of 2 motors via 1 Serial pin. Speed ​​resolution is little lower than other control methods, but it has the advantage of the number of pins, control speed is 38400 bits per second (bps).

Disables the current sensor limiting algorithm after 100A currents (Only activate this on systems you are sure are working properly.). Sport mode can be selected at all type input modes.
